- in reply to: Do You Ever Get Burnt-Out On Anime!?
Glad you brouth this up. As mentioned before, the potential for burn-out exists for anything you spend a great deal of time in; but I think the more crucial factor is not rather a certain quantity, but rather when something feels like an obligation, or it feels like workthat’s where the tendency for burnout originates (imo). I myself don’t really feel this with anime, but honestly it’s because I pace myself and don’t watch a whole lot in succession partially because I’m attempting to prevent myself from getting jaded to it. I have several friends that have ‘schedules’ encompassing almost 200 series! They have them listed in order they’re goint to watch them, and set out to watch a certain amount of anime every day based on adhering to the schedule (and if you recommend an anime to them, they have to somehow fit it into their pre-planned ‘curriculum’); if that’s the way you like to do it, go right ahead, but watching anime is not my job, so I’m not going to treat it as such. I know how much burnout sucks, which is why I’m attempting to prevent it happening between me and anime!
😆 But hey the good news is burnout isn’t permanent–it will fade if you distance yourself from [it] for a while.
This seems vaguely familiar, I thinkwe took these first semester of college, but I don’t remember (Briggs Meyer sounds famliar, but not Jung, so was this test created by combining certain models? Or maybe this is thetest that I and so many others have taken, I’unno) Anyway, I got INFJ
*famous people with this include Nathaniel Hawthorne (an author I admire, cool) and Nathan, a prophet of Israel (like from the Old Testament? How would they know that? Not like he logged on and took this test)

Wow lots of good ones! Way to support Toonami!!! Even though I love FMAB, with movies such as
Conqueror of ShamballaI’ve still kept interest in the original series. Right now, I’m watching an anime I wish I had seen years ago:
School Rumble. It is, hands down, one of the funniest shows (not just anime) I have ever experienced. Alot of familiar archetypes making up the schoolboy/schoolgirl shenanigans dynamic, but also alot of playful variation, and the conventional aspects (and non-conventional alike) are all executed and timed to a ‘T’, a formula resulting in a perfect blend of comedic gold. Speaking of familiar characters…wow, it’s almost like
High School of the Deadjust plucked characters from Rumbleand added zombies. 😆 (I love H.O.T.D. but come on, you know it’s true)- September 15, 2012 at 3:39 PM

Welcome to the board Wisper! Glad you decided to ‘take the plunge’ That’s totally cool that you didn’t watch Tenchi much back in the day (& way to go for admitting it–that’s something in any respect we strive here on the forum btw: no one should feel afraid to voice their opinions, even if it’s not always the ‘popular’ one). I find that interesting and exciting because it shows something that we here on the board have been hoping for, and that is by keeping Tenchi alive, even people who haven’t previously watched it, or maybe even heard of it, can experience it (because it’s never too late).
I’m glad you’ve discovered Tenchi, and that you’ve got box sets on pre-order! You won’t regret having more Tenchi in your collection.
😎 If all this seems like alot to take in (don’t worry, we’ll keep your eyeballs safe–it’s an inside joke/Tenchiforum thing, you’ll get it…& Thorn: walking sticks now? mmmokay) no worries; we’re working to make ‘the plunge’ as easy as possible, and everything’s at your own pace (like Mumble voice chat, plenty on the board are willing to help with that/give info, but don’t feel rushed to voice chat…or don’t at all, if you really don’t want…but it is pretty neat).
Any questions, ask here (post) or pm (personal message) a mod (such as myself…look for “green”) or support team member.

WOWZA! Activity in the amv’s section! :washu: Where to start?
I totally agree with the Cowboy Bebop song, Z-man! Right off the bat I’m picturing Time & Space adventures of Universe when Ryoko is on the lam with Tenchi, robbin banks at gunpoint.
You’re right Thorn, the lyrics are extremely fitting of the third Tenchi movie. Simply constructed, but not bad editing/rhythm-wise. There are alot of important elements that need to come together for a “good” amv, but I think the most important is ‘does it strike its viewers with the mood you’re looking to project?’ & in this case, it does.
Excellent choice Kiyoka! LacrimosaSerenade is a fantastic amv-er, I’ve long enjoyed her work. This one just makes Kain seem so terrifying! & badass (which we all know he totally is).
‘Want You Bad’ by Offspring. Another good choice, I’ll never forget this Tenchi amv.
Wow, Z man, this last one: I’ve seen some of NightOwl’s work, but I can’t believe I’ve never seen this one. What a
fantasticangle! A Tenchi amv without the characters (which of course we all know the characters are great) is such a unique take, and the art/style of Tenchi Muyo!is in and of itself deserving of the spotlight in its own AMV. Seeing things differently/taking the unexpected, non-conventional approach; that’s an artist. (just kinda’ sad it seems Azaka & Kamidake got lumped in with ‘art’ i.e. landscape? furniture?)

Soundmonkey44 wrote:Quite frankly i’m just glad to have it back. Wish it was ALL of Saturday night and not just 12/11PM on, but hey, beggers can’t be choosers.
Same here. Shame I can’t watch it much since I don’t have cable (I know someone–likely Z-man–posted where there was a live streaming of it somewhere at some point) but I’m also glad it’s back because it shows that with the efforts of social media devices (being used
constructivelywell how about that?) big names like Steve Blum taking an interest, and the network listening to the influx of fan-submitted petitions and requests, we actually had an impact, and it shows that what you see on tv–stretch it farther, who is sitting in your Congressman’s chair, oval office, etc.–isn’t something totally intangible or unattainable; it’s dependent on, and reflects usin a very real way, and thus we can change it. So, yeah, I thought that was cool. Criticism is fine, but I don’t like when people are unfairly negative about how much Toonami sucks now, or how it used to be waaaay better, etc….yeah, I was there, I know that, we all know that, but we wanted it after all, and in a world today where networks, corporations, private entities, and individuals alike are so bottom-dollar money/profit driven, the fact that CN listened to viewer input at all and threw us a bone so to speak…yeah, us ‘beggars’ should be a

Both very valid points, but now that I read your post Silver (& subsequently re-read mine) I’m slapping myself right now, I seem to have mixed this thread up with a similar thread in which we discussed possibilities for
